We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give (Winston Churchill)

It’s a story of two people – Lynda and Mir:

  • They were born in two different countries – England and India;
  • They came to Canada from two different countries – England and the United States;
  • They believed in two different religions – Judaism and Islam;
  • They represented two different races – Caucasian and Asian; and
  • They spoke two different native languages – English and Urdu.

Yet, they lived together blossoming for 50 years in various parts of:

  • Canada:
    • Ontario – Malton, Bramalea, West Hill, Pickering, Scarborough, Ajax, and Ottawa;
    • New Brunswick – Fredericton;
    • Alberta – Calgary; and
    • British Columbia – Sidney By the Sea.
  • The United States:
    • Nevada – Las Vegas.

They also lived in Oxford, United Kingdom, for a while when Mir was doing his studies at Oxford University.

They spent their vacations in:

  • France;
  • Australia;
  • New Zealand;
  • Mexico;
  • Cuba;
  • Fiji;
  • Venezuela;
  • The United Kingdom:
    • England;
    • Scotland;
    • Wales, and
    • Northern Ireland.
  • The United States: Nemours States.

They cruised to various islands in Hawaii:

  • Kauai;
  • Oahu;
  • Molokai; and
  • Maui.

They also cruised to:

  • Mexico;
  • Alaska;
  • California; and
  • Catalina Island (California).

They were an odd couple in a true sense.

They were both married before and Lynda had two daughters – Ruth and Maxine – from a previous marriage.  They had a son together, Adam, who’s happily married to Lindsay and they live together with their four kids in Manotick, Ontario, Canada.
